How to Use Your Leftover Wallpaper
If you have some wallpaper pieces leftover from your project...get excited!! There are so many possibilities for re-purposing the extra material — whether it's a few sample pieces or a couple full rolls — to add even more personality and style to your home. It's in the details, baby.
Today we'll share with you just some of the creative ways our customers have used their leftover wallpaper to make their home decor #nextlevel. A big THANK YOU to all of our amazing customers who sent us photos and totally delighted the entire MUSE crew. :)
Frame the Leftover Wallpaper
Here you can see some of the scrap Botanical Blues wallpaper fits perfectly into a white frame hung on the wall. Voila!
We've framed some leftover Spotty Dalmatian Mural material to contrast against the Dalmatian Dots wallpaper on the wall. A great example of how to play with pattern scale in a room!
Wallpaper a Dresser
It's super fun to lay some scrap wallpaper over an old dresser. It's an instant transformation, and waaay easier than sanding, priming, painting, and sealing. This pattern is our Blue Bohemian Scallops wallpaper in a custom color.
Line the Back of a Shelf
Use some of that leftover custom panel to add interest to the back of a kitchen cabinet. If you love how it looks, take off the door to make an open-shelf. Bonus points for adding stick-on LEDs!
Put Wallpaper in a Travel Dollhouse
This little dollhouse was inspired by LustLiving's office which features our Dalmatian Dot wallpaper...and isn't it precious???!
Wallpaper your Refrigerator
This is definitely one of the more adventurous installs we've seen using one roll or less of wallpaper. But dang, the Blue Wildflower Fields design looks good! You can't even tell it's a fridge!
Wallpaper Your Door
This would take about one and a half rolls of leftover wallpaper to get the width of the door covered, and we're loving how it turned out. Such a fun idea!
Make a Sign
Grab a piece of plywood and cover that baby with your leftover wallpaper. Then add some lettering or your Harry Potter-eque house crest for a fun and whimsical DIY wall hanging.
Cover Your Ugly Off-White Switch Plates
Do you have some blah colored switch plates that need a serious upgrade? Put some wallpaper on them. Here a customer used a leftover wallpaper sample to cover hers, and we love it!
Add Interest to Your Desk with Wallpaper
With not much material at all you can add a little personality to your desk drawer. Shown is our Navy and Gold Hexagon wallpaper.
Mix and Match Paint and Wallpaper on a Shelf
If you don't have quite enough leftover wallpaper to do the project you have in mind, don't be afraid to mix in a little paint to the equation. How cool is this angled mix of wallpaper, paint, and original shelf backing?
Cover the Top of a Table with Wallpaper
While we wouldn't use it on a high-traffic surface like a kitchen counter, covering a side table is a really easy project that's a great way to repurpose your leftover wallpaper.
We'd love to hear how you're using your leftover MUSE wallpaper! Post a photo on Instagram and tag us @musewallstudio so we can gush over it together. :)
